Mild winter here , and no protection needed .

My lowest Low was 16F , and  the next coldest nights were 7 Lows  of 21F-24F ,  and all days were above 32F  . Not bad for here .

Below is a picture of my Butia and one of  my Washy . The Washy  is only frond hardy to 24F , but the petioles are green and there is even a little green on the fronds near the petioles . The trunk is probably hardy to 15F so  I didn't have to protect anything this year , including my Chammy ( it's  in the Butia picture , but the Butia has grown over it so it's hard to see ) . I'll cut off the damaged Washy  fronds soon .

This first  picture shows my Ensete maurelii with a solid trunk up to about 5 feet . It often dies close to the ground but this coming season it will be huge with such a great start .One of my  Musa basjoos has a solid trunk up to about 8' , so it  will have a great start to the season too .

I was worried about that Arctic air move east from Texas but it never got here . Sorry to those who lost really nice palms  out that way .

Thanks for looking .

Thanks to Gator and NC Palm Enthusiasts for their comments . I like this time of year when I shouldn't have to worry about some of my less hardy palms . It is also nice to see spring kicking in more and more each day .

How long has that Maurelli been in-ground?  I never thought they'd come back from temps like that.
