Hey everyone!! I recently pulled this 6 or 7 feet tall palm tree out from my yard, 2 days ago, it came with lots of damage on it's roots and some on the trunk. The central spear is damaged and bent. Is it going to survive?? And, also, please help me identify this palm tree. Thanks!! :)

If I was to bet I would say it isnt going to live . Looks like a ptychosperma of some sort . If your trying to salvage it tie up the fronds Real right like a pencil and water also keep it in the shade . Hit it with some super thrive . Keep it tied up for a few months . Atleast that’s what I would do .

I added root stimulator and kept it in shade, it has been 1 week after I potted it, and has no sign of drooping foliage.

The Palm looks like an Adonidia to me. Because the roots are badly severed I don’t think it would survive. To give it more of a shot at surviving I recommend pruning some of the fronds off because the roots cannot support too much foliage with the state they are in.

A thin Christmas Palm, Adonidia merrillii.

It looks like the extrication was a bit rough but it has a slight... chance. The leaf pruning will help reduce the water needs on the plant. The biggest challenge will be to regrow just about every root from scratch, as the broken roots might only sprout secondaries. Every remaining leaf may turn brown but do not be in a hurry to cut them off, just wait for a new leaf to emerge. Make sure the base has decent drainage and does not stay flooded. Not much else to do but talk to it nicely.

If you can get new roots to grow and one or two new leaves (which may be stunted) to appear, then pot him up with good potting soil and some time-release fertilizer. The same size pot can be used.

The palm does have some white, undamaged roots coming out of the base in pics 2 and 3. The palm also has a slight tug to the soil when I pulled it. The fronds now has brown tips.
