Home Depot and Lowe's Coconut Palm Trees

Looking at some of the pictures here https://www.palmtalk.org/forum/index.php?/topic/55422-coconuts-in-lakeland-fl/, I didn't think they could be planted so close to the house. I was assuming you would need more room for the fonds to grow out. I guess the point would be to force the palm to bend away and not grow straight up? I planted the one in front about 6-7 ft from the wall and the back probably about 3 ft from the porch roof. The one in the back is in a nice location where I can walk on top of the porch roof and reach the coconuts when it gets that high up. Here are some pictures from my surveillance cameras to catch anyone trying to steal my coconuts.... lol

I know is off topic... But my rose apple tree did not do well in the years frost. I posted a before and after pictures. It hasn't sprouted any new leafs... It did sprout one leaf and it died. I think I made a mistake removing the dry leafs on the tree, which I think gave shade to the tree trunk. Some of the wood is cracking and I was thinking of cutting the tree a little below the last branch, because it is still alive at the root level. Do I cut it or leave it in hopes it starts putting out leafs. This happen also when it was smaller and and it grew the new tree from the roots. Any opinion here about this? Thank you.

Yes, top part has no green when scratched and the thicker trunk at the bottom is looks like its not dry, but not green either. There are some small bug where the bark is cracking. .

Just received a reply from Everde the company on the pot label. They replied it was a Malaysian coconut palm, but not dwarf. So much hope for a dwarf.

Good morning:

As per our farm in Homestead (that’s where we grow the container palms):

Cocos nucifera / PALM, COCONUT

It is Malaysian but not dwarf.

Thanks.
