Hoping the cold that is being predicted for the Texas Coast doesn't turn out as bad as it sounds.  Have lots of family in Galveston and Harris Counties and am thinking of all you palm growers.  Best wishes!

I don't wanna make light of it, but there's an unofficial way to determine how severe the weather is gonna be (cold/hurricanes/etc) - is Waffle House closing?

I'm gonna keep my eye on the local Waffle House lol.

Galveston is showing a low of 29F on Monday night on the Euro model.  Houston is projected to be a lot colder (upper teens possibly?).

I was hearing numbers in from single digits to below 0F for Dallas.  Holding out hope that it isn't 1989: The Sequel!

The forecast for Austin has been dipping into lower and lower single digits as we get closer to next week.  I think this might be the end of GSD&M’s giant Phoenix dactyliferas downtown :(

Im just North and West of Austin, basically a suburb of it. It’s getting pretty brutal. Everything is covered in ice and looks to stay that way for a week.

Im forecasted at 7F on Sunday 0F for Monday. 30 miles east of Dallas.

Ive spent all week digging up the palms I could save and threw them into big pots in the heated greenhouse. I'm afraid it's c'est la vie for some of my larger stuff. I've got some riverside and uresana Im praying will make it.

I expect it to continue to drop, and the model posted elsewhere in the forums, a few days ago , to be dead on accurate. It looked laughable on Monday.
