Kentia Palms

In 2006 I released a book called “Seed to Elegance” which detailed the history of the Kentia Palm. Since then I have continued to do research into the Kentia’s amazing history. I have a new blog out called “Kentia Palm Chronicles” with lots of posts and photos of the Kentia spanning the last 150 years. My latest post details how Kentia Seed can be germinated.

Would be great to know the secret to keeping them alive indoors.

There is a really good chapter on Kentia Care in my book. Lots of information about maintaining and caring for Kentia Palms indoors.

Link to the blog site Kentia Palm Chronicles if anyone wants to check it out.  Great historic photos with palm trees in them.  I really enjoyed the Kentia Palm seed germination article(s).

So the fronds are ultra sensitive to touch?

on all the ones I’ve bought for indoors the fronds turn “brassy” (not dry) and I know it will be dead within a week.
