Manfreda virginica

Has anyone here ever grown Manfreda virginica? Wikipedia calls it Agave virginica but I’m not quite sure if it is fully considered an agave, although it sure can look like one sometimes. Funny enough, in Virginia, this plant is only native to the western most tip of the state. Has anyone ever grown these before? I might order some seeds for them.

I bought some last summer and were recently planted. They bloomed last year, and are preparing to bloom again. My only concern is that something might eat the roots. I’ve lost several plants already due to what I believe are voles. They’ve mostly eaten live oak and Sabal seedlings root systems so far with a few random other plants.
