Good riddance to 2020

I'm old, but this was the worst of years.  (Even our family dog died)

Have you had enough of venal politicians, willful ignorance, selfishness and the crass commercialization of everyday life ?  Watch this for something better,

Also, here is a link I have posted before, but still inspiring.  I visited this sculpture during my last trip to Milan, it is even better in life than the article can convey.

I don't have a link to add, but we've def seen the best and the worst of humanity this year. I hope everyone has a happy, healthy, prosperous and palmy new year, and I hope everyone has enough toilet paper to go around in 2021.

May the year ahead bring healing, and refreshed perspective as we rise above to see the bigger picture, and the distant horizons calling to us from beyond. Happy New Year!!!!

Like a lot of people, I got into plants (palms specifically) during the Covid quarantines/stay at home orders/unemployment. And I was getting a little frustrated because I wasn't seeing a lot of growth in my new green roommates - but I looked in the bottoms of a few planters today and I noticed that most of their roots are going absolutely bananas at the bottom. Made me feel a lot better about my skills as a new plant dad to 30ish new green friends and roommates.

I learned a lot in 2020. If I had to pick one word to represent my experience for the year, I'd choose patience. I learned to be patient waiting for more information. I learned to be patient with people who had no patience. I learned to be patient while others vented. I was capable of being patient when waiting for test results, refunds, and dealing with changing schedules, and rules. I was already patient watching palms grow, but 2020 required far more patience. Now I am totally ready for 2021 and any surprises and adventures it may present. Happy 2021 to all!

Happy 2021 everyone! Hopefully it will be a lot better than 2020 which was a massive year of change in so many ways.

Looks to me like things are getting worse before they get better.

But at my age I don’t have too long to suffer.!
