I bought 5 seeds from rarepalmseeds.com and did cold stratification in box outside according protocol. Nothing germinated after over half a year. I wanted to post that result on rarepalmseeds.com but it was not published online. Censorship!!

Adam did you ever try growing this.  I had to search it to see what it looks like.  Very interesting looking even as a small plant, which it could be for a long time if the reports about growth i read were accurate. 

Nathan, any knowledge or experience with this South American native?

Heard of it ..Think i have seen one ..somewhere back in California long time ago, but not much beyond that.
