Photos of cultivated and wild palms in Puerto Rico in December 2020

I was lucky enough to visit a friend who recently moved to Puerto Rico! For obvious reasons, I spent most of the time hanging out and doing walks through their neighborhood, however we did get the chance to go to El Yunque, which was previously ravaged by Hurricane Maria. To my surprise, the rainforest has made a rapid recovery, and you must look rather hard in order to find evidence of the recent storm! I have photos from the neighborhood, which was very fond of Cyrtostachys renda as well as our day trip to the rainforest.

Pristine fronds with a strong resemblance to Archontophoenix

One of the many Cyrtostachys renda in my friend's neighborhood - I tried hard to convince her how lucky she was to be surrounded by them

I agree, nice photos. Those Prestoea are handsome palms, especially in habitat.

Great pics Kyle!  You're really getting around the country this month!  Are you going to Hawaii for New Year's?  :D

I wish I were going to Hawaii! No more hopping around for me.
