Acoelorrhaphe wrightii hardy????

I think they actually are a zone 9a palm overall, I’ve never seen one outside of that zone in person except for on Hilton Head Island, SC, which is basically 9a even though the USDA zones consider it at the higher end of 8b.

Will probably come back from the ground in zone 8 but the trunks are only hardy into the low 20s. I'd say the crown is slightly less bud hardy than even a queen palm based on a few specimens in Houston.

They’re definitely not a z8 palm.  As Xenon relates, the trunks are less hardy than queen palms.  That’s been my experience from torturing several in Austin, TX.
