What a surprise to find one of my Kings is fruiting . I didn’t even think they would live 5 years ago !

What happened 5 years ago that made you think you would lose them?

Your climate is warmer than mine, at least your averages, and there are 30 year old Archontophoenix happily growing here. It hasn’t gone down to 32°F here since 2007 though. Do you get below freezing temps very often?

We get threats of frost /freeze almost yearly , Jan 2018, had a low of  28F . Thankfully I’m on a 5000 acre lake which seems to moderate the temps a bit higher

Archontophoenix are more cold hardy than Roystonea so, seeing those huge Royals, even with that frost damage, you shouldn’t have any problem growing King palms.
