Using aragonite with Sabal sp.?

Does anyone, or has anyone used aragonite as a top dress for sabal palmetto or any sabal species?

Curious from a cultivation standpoint.

Aragonite used in reef aquariums typically has loads of calcium and CaCo3 calcium carbonate buffer, strontium, magnesium, molybdenum and potassium.

Since several species are coastal, Im curious how this impacts sabals.

I have a small bag of it left over from an aquarium I had a few years ago before moving, and was thinking of adding a bit to a small 1 year old sabal sp. collected that washed up on shore last august.

Please let me know your thoughts.

This could be interesting.

I've tried it and the particle size is too small, it just makes drainage worse. I've collected marl rock in south Fl and the keys and broken that up into pieces for use with species like Coccothrinax and Pseudophoenix, which works pretty well. Sabal is fine with whatever soil, so I'd just use regular potting mix.

Marl rock helps coccothrinax? Like serpentine soil? I wonder if would also benefit copernicias. I've been wondering about how to provide those micronutrients....

I use it for the added calcium, to increase the pH, and to increase drainage. I haven't used it with Copernicia, but I suspect it would help with some of the Cuban species.
