Scarification or Capping of Cycad Seeds

Hello Palmtalk friends,

For those of y’all that grow your cycads from seeds, do you cap or scarify your seeds?  If so, what technique do you use?  I’m trying to get a couple Macrozamia Macdonnellii seeds to germinate.  Also, I just ordered a small amount of gibberellic acid to get them jump started as well.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Nick
