Sacred lotus

My lotus (second summer in my pond) now has aerial leaves. Last year it was still at the floating leaves stage. I’m hoping that it will flower this year.

It’s surprising that your lotus didn’t grow standing leafs last year. Your plant seems to be quite mature and water lotus at that size should grow standing leafs  and bloom in the same summer. Maybe it’s time to check your water depth (should be very shallow in the spring), water temperature (warmer means faster unless it’s too hot), and sunlight hours (the more the better). They look very healthy in your photos so fertilization seems fine. I suspect water depth is the main issue here
