Unfortunately this is not the case, it was in a particularly favorable moment, here is how the wind reduces the leaves of the Livistona jenkinsiana:

I am sorry about your wind damage. I can sympathize with you. It was sad to watch emerging spears on some of my palms get tattered by recent weather with high winds in my area. I am hoping they recover OK, but two were already struggling from a planting in late June.
