This morning I looked out the window and saw….

My “Ensete ventricosum” Red Abyssinian Banana had fallen from the strong Santa Ana winds!

I knew it had crushed my Dypsis Robusta!!

I quickly cut it up and pulled it away from my Robusta.

The Robusta spear was lying on the ground!!

I propped the spear up and… it stayed?? WTF??

I think it will make it……

The mad Diablo winds we had Sunday/Monday took a few things out up here as well, but still assessing the damage.  Crazy weather!

Hopefully a save Tom!  I wonder if a little preventative dose of hydrogen peroxide might be in order, just in case there was damage below where you can see?  In this weather it will evaporate quickly after being applied.

I had something bend over the spear on 2 palms recently, both palms lived but the top half of the leaf will eventually die off. Good luck and I hope the best for you

Ughhh, if that was my yard it would be the end of all banannas in it!  All the time invested and that pretty spear!  I hope it pulls through.

Formerly in Gilbert AZ, zone 9a/9b. Now in Palmetto, Florida Zone 9b/10a??
