How to save rotting travelers palm

Hello.  I was pointed here by a user on Reddit.  I have a travelers palm that is starting to rot.  You can see it in the video linked below.  You can push your finger about an inch into the trunk, that first inch is like cardboard, after you get through that though it is hard like wood.  Also all the leaves have died except 3.  I think the rot occurred from the soil being overly saturated.  Can this tree be saved or am I better off cutting it down?  Thank you for your advice.
