I was wondering what is the growing speed of a Trachycarpus Fortunei from seed to 6 feet. Thanks

Seed to trunking has been painfully slow for me...

I have some that I started from seed in 2010, they are knee high and are just starting to get an expanded trunk for me (they were planted as small one gallon size in the ground in vaious placed in part shade).

Compared to a 3 gallon "blue pot" trachys that was planted in 2015 (prob gets more sun than the seed gown), have ~ 6' of trunk.

Once they start trunking and are happy in a good spot, they put on about a foot of tunk or more a year.  I probably should have babied my potted seedlings more before I planted them out.

I scour the clearace palms at big box stores and was picking up a trachy or two a year for around 10 bucks.  I think it was well worth the money to get one that was as close to start trunking as possible.
