Kong Lower

My neighbor in this area when we bought the place was Mr. Kong a retired high school agricultural teacher.  Even though he has passed on to that weedless garden I still refer to the land along his fence as "Kong".  Kong Lower has been untouched by me for about 40 years and in August this year I got busy.  Very busy and slowly cleared a lot and terraced it.  The trees remaining are Haole Koa that for now will provide shade for the new palms.  In time they will all be cut down.

First photos is the before:

Looking great. So much more lush now.

Yea amazing what a month of watering will do for those scrubby old trees.  And 3" of rain so far this month also helped.
