Color change on pindo

Howdy all.   I have 2 pindo palms. 1 has green bark, and the other i noticed is a dark color bark at the bottom.  I don't remember it being that dark.  Is that normal?  Thanks for any info

I dont exactly remember the exact name of that, but that is not technically bark. It is a frond base. As the palm gets older and taller, it will eventually lose those old frond bases to reveal a gray trunk. So yes, this is totally normal. Nice and healthy looking palm!
