New, small Zombia antillarum - it's armed

Today in the mail I received a 1g Zombia antillarum aka Zombie Palm from a FL seller. It is in perfect condition - a beautiful little thing with spring green 3-leaflet leaves. It is also armed with needle sharp spines at the base of its tiny stem. Check out the photos:

I only grew a few seedlings last year. No sign of spines...yet.

Yes mine was the same size years ago, not a super fast grower down this way but the trunk is always a talking point.
