I've no idea why it suddenly kicked in but if you click on "View Calendar" on the main page of the forum (click the bizzie photo) the actual calendar appears with the events in bold red listed on the proper dates.  Also, if you entered your birth date in your profile it puts that also in the proper slot--ALONG WITH YOUR AGE {shudder}.

Then, if you click on the calendar's event in red you'll be taken to the message (in the chapter news forum) that gives more details.

Kinda neat.
