To imagine living in HI and just being able buy any random palm without considering weather or cold hardiness....

Don't forget to separate them when repotting, they will clump by themselves.

Call me nuts, but they didn't strike me as D. lutescens. Too green, and that weird scurfy/ mealy bug looking petioles is not anything I've ever noticed on mine.  I suspect it's something common, but it's not coming to me.

Looks like shade grown Dypsis lutescens to me. I have thousands and they have the mottling but not quite as pronounced.

Better to have big hedges of Rhapis excelsa. :floor:Maybe im alone but I feel like D. Lutescens is overused. I would like them better if they stayed green maybe.

quaman you are nuts.  Your description is classic Lut. 

But like most palms they do have a climatic and otherwise variation.

The palms in the photo appear to have a pronounced ligule, absent in Dypsis lutescens.
