Hooray, scream, make an appointment first, but if you go, take lots of pictures! The art galleries are closed, but, well, I suspect most of us here won't worry much about that.

I beg your pardon, this is also a killer rose-garden . . .

There's art galleries?  LOL!  I only saw palms when I was there!  Good to hear that the gardens are open.  I really liked the desert area also.

The art galleries are quite extensive and storied, as are the libraries.

Agree.. While the gardens themselves might be more of a reason us plant geeks might visit, do want to take a stroll through the galleries at least once on a visit. As you mentioned, quite a bit of history in that end of the collection to appreciate also. Standing up on the patio above the Rose Garden, sometimes felt i should have wore a tie while visiting, lol..

On a side note, saw that the L.A. Arboretum,  Rancho Santa Ana ( now California Botanical ), and San Diego Botanical ( formally Quail Botanical ) are open again, via reserved tickets/ limited capacity.. As are most attractions at both the S.D. Zoo & Safari Park.

For anyone here, or daring enough to visit right now  ( would wait until out current surge in cases settles a bit myself ) Desert Botanical re-opens to the public Monday, at least for now.. and ASDM ( AZ. Sonora Desert Museum ) is open, as is Boyce Thompson.. which might be the second safest garden to visit ( ASDM would be the safest, imo ). Checking on their status yesterday,  Tohono Chul is currently.. and will remained closed until further notice.
