There's nothing like enjoying your palms 

In this pic you can see the small, red Tahiti dwarf in shuttlecocked mode while the golden Pacific (Mexican) tall (germinated in-haus) towers behind it.

I have tried repeatedly, I just lack even the bare minimum heat requirements. Too cool, too damp; Cocos hate my 'hood..

I hear ya'. Inland folk (in cali) have a better chance when it comes to cocos. However it's also trial and error. I've lost 4 myself (in ground).  These 5 seem to be going the distance. I know I'm not out of the woods yet.  Here's hoping!
