Butia X Jubea Palm hybrid in Dallas

This Specimen is about 20 years old. It was from Merrill Wilcox. It has been through Teo cold winters during that time. 13F and 11F. 
no damage at 13F. The 11F came with 4 sequential days below freezing. Grind damage but no Spear pull. It has only flowered once.  A nearby Similar aged Butia flowers every year and was completely defoliated with Spear pull at 11F

Here is the hybrid, in the background and the pure Butia odorata in the foreground after the coldest winter in 20 years at 11F.

Wow Tony your BxJ is spectacular. I love the very upright fronds. The butia used in the hybrid mustve been var strictor right ?
