This Specimen is about 20 years old. It was from Merrill Wilcox. It has been through Teo cold winters during that time. 13F and 11F.
no damage at 13F. The 11F came with 4 sequential days below freezing. Grind damage but no Spear pull. It has only flowered once.  A nearby Similar aged Butia flowers every year and was completely defoliated with Spear pull at 11F

Here is the hybrid, in the background and the pure Butia odorata in the foreground after the coldest winter in 20 years at 11F.

@TonyDFW wanted to bump this thread only because I'm nearby and am very close to pulling the trigger on a nice 5G+ BxJ locally here to add to our property.  How did this one do?  Also any updates on the Jubea Chilensis on its own as well?  I had read that made it through with minimal protection.  Thanks in advance as your experiences here are so hugely important.

If this is one of merrills hybris I expect its JxB not BxJ.  BxJ are not nearly as upright and have leaves that "corkscrew".  Check this thread out for B x J(mother plant is B).
