Veitchia winin is a tall, thin solitary feather palm native to Vanuatu where it is endangered by habitat destruction. It is very fast growing to a height exceeding 60' and is hardy to zone 10. Veitchia seedlings germinate easily and develop some of the toughest root systems I've seen in a palm. They like heat and regular water in a well-draining soil. My V. winin is now so tall I have trouble seeing its crown from the ground, so I am posting a link to a page on Palmpedia.
