Hi,

two months old now...

03.thumb.JPG.6bd8813ab2058797b05085c899529359.JPG

...and pretty fast I would say.

It looks strong and healthy. If it keeps growing with this speed I am going to plant it out next year.

best regards -

Hi,

I am not intending to "take over" but got another piece of information for this one - I hope it is ok.

Last time I mentioned the growth rate which seems to be fast - yesterday I checked the pot's bottom just

to find the roots already sticking out remarkably ... At the moment it is the only one of this species I have so went to

action and re-potted it before the roots get to thick to be pulled out. I got to mention that the first pot was

already larger than the ones I am usually using - this palm seems to become very interesting.

Here it is now:

I will keep you updated.

@palmfriend

The second viable seed from RPS just germinated today.  Hoping that both will turn into gorgeous plants like the ones in your photos.  How are yours @comic097?

Congratulations!!

I am wondering how my plant will perform during the winter when the temps and humidity drop to 22C/70F and around 60% or less. We will see -

I hope for the best! (I had a Pigafetta elata once with almost the same growth rate but lost it soon after planting it out due to a typhoon.) It would

be awesome if this palm keeps its growth rate during the next months.

However, I will keep you updated - please let us know how yours are doing!

best regards -

Lars

Is that sprout dried out and dead or dying? Or is that how the sprout looks, healthy?

Hi there,

a short update...

001.thumb.jpg.a2177ad2f7e9714503a617da0aa31058.jpg

Here the first sprout from last year's June, planted out last fall. It was a bit cool this winter

but it is doing well so far.

002.thumb.jpg.66d57e29b30620accd0c36ab9ec9eb55.jpg

Here we have last year's September-sprout. A bit slow during our winter but looks good, too.

Finally...

003.thumb.jpg.09c48b64d56e07d69b13c8c28e1efb87.jpg

Found it yesterday - the third of three seeds - jumped to life after one year. :D:greenthumb:

Hi,

a quick update after almost two years...

Here the first planted out one....

nb001.thumb.jpg.ff749a250a4e50a8757c5295e183636d.jpg

Took a blow during two late summer typhoons but...

nb002.thumb.jpg.523718003c96baecf4d0721e46b57bd8.jpg

..it is doing well - constantly pushing new leaves.

Here another one, planted out in spring...

nb003.thumb.jpg.3bcabcd054af514a12d0fd96ca2cde50.jpg

pushed new leaves in the meantime,  too - it seems that is has "connected" itself successfully to our soil as well.

The third one unfortunately declined soon after planting out (this year's spring) but I am optimistic to get the shown two ones big.
