Great selection. Your yard should look like a tropical oasis.

Just a caution: Rhapidophyllum may be burned to a crisp in your desert sun. They are SE forest understory palms that grow in partial/full shade.

Nice collection, it's going to look great in a couple of years.  I would think some mulch around the base of the palms would be helpful in retaining moisture and keeping the weeds from competing for resources.  It looks hot there!

@James760   I see you have drippers set up on the palms.  How often do you have to water in your locale?   Nice collection BTW!

Thanks everyone for your comments!

@PalmatierMeg, The Needle is in late afternoon sun only ( which isn't great) the plan was to have the Brahea SS block the sun as well as other palms. That's not going to happen anytime soon lol! I jump the gun, but I do have a tree to the west also blocking late afternoon sun but your right, it is gonna burn still. I'll have to protect it .

@Chester B, I usually buy mulch by the truck load but its been closed. Your right, it is hot here. We're having an unseasonably warm spring. I should just go to Lowes & by some bag's :greenthumb:

@jimmyt, Thanks! Right now am watering 40mins wait 15mins then another 40mins so (80 minutes) once a week..  In summer i do the same process but 45min ( 90 minutes) twice a week. I also water by hand every now & then but the more thirsty stuff like Queens, Sabal Minors etc. I just spray the mulch around a bit, keep the area moist.

A really nice collection of hardy palms. Did you start them from seed or where did you purchase them from? Jungle Music?

Thank you! Most were purchased. I have got a few from Jungle Music in the past but of the ones posted I've purchased from Kevin Weaver in Lake Elsinore, CA,  Josh in Vista, CA , Discovery Palms from Joe in San Marcos,CA, multiflora palms in Fallbrooks & PlantDelight.com.

I'm growing alot from seed (most acquired from people on palmtalk) but they're not quite ready to be planted yet.

The Acoelorrhaphe Wrightii, looks really cool, been trying to find one of two of those for a while myself, do you know if your source for those offer shipping, can you recall the price range. Your Brahea armata is also amazing.

He does offer shipping but I believe there's a minimum order of, I want to say $300? He ships a bunch of cycads mostly but if the price is right he'll do palms. I believe Texascoldhardypalms has 5 gallons available & he ships. He's here on palm talk as well :greenthumb:
