Beautiful palm! Mine gets a little tattered in the breeze, I wish it would hold the entire leaf longer. That reminds me, it needs a trim! Thank you for posting your photo.

Magnifique palmier!

Hello Kim, this nice palm tree will soon make us flowers, here is the spate!

Thanks for posting a picture of your beautiful palm tree I tried one of these it did okay for about 2 years then a hot Santa Ana winds session burnt it to a brown potato chip and it was toast. Even though I tried to keep the humidity up. Tough grow here. I know of one growing in pt.loma that is doing ok .anyone else trying this palm in a less than perfect location?

Sure. How many have tried in S. Florida? It's the perfect less than perfect location to kill M. darianii! I don't think that any survive here in the ground. Maybe up by Orlando?

Holy Cow Kim! Now that’s impressive. It’s really put on some growth in the last few years.

Hope you’re enjoying the ‘extended’ time in your garden.

Thanks Tim! Nearly 2 months here,  and enjoying every minute. But time to leave soon. Flight has been cancelled & rebooked a few times, most recently this morning! This time it looks like I'll make it back to San Diego. Maybe see you & Bob this summer.

Marojejya darianii, definitely one of my favorites! :) They are indeed very impressive when they get taller but I find them most attractive just before they begin to form a trunk. Here's one of mine (one of five) earlier this morning. (And Tim, yes, adding to Kim's comment, most definitely looking forward to seeing you and Bob and hopefully within the next couple of months. :) )

I tried to grow these over the years, one died due to a lack of water, the other to much water during one of our cold winters. Very expensive to keep trying so now off the wanted list. I wonder if anyone south of Queensland has been successful with these.

I agree they look best before they trunk, if only.

Love the photo's

Max, your photos are terrific! Mahalo for posting.

I’ll snap a photo of the one here in the garden and post soon, it’s becoming quite imposing.

Hope its ok if I add some pictures of this one at Lyon Arboretum, Oahu. even though it isn't from my garden.  Gotta be one of my

favorite palms there, and have only seen this color once. The old sheaths were rotten and underneath was this beautiful color. Has anyone

ever seen this color on a M. darianii before??
