Florida is in a drought!

Almost all of the state of Florida is in a drought now. The drought is only getting worse as burn bans are put in place not long ago. My queens are doing fairly well but i have noticed a bit of yellowing lately on the tips. Likely from being so dry, i have tried to water it everyday but sometimes i cant. They are still trucking along though after a warmish winter for this area. How is your area doing? I do know that digging a hole is worthless here in the panhandle at this point. We need a good washout!

Palms - 4 S. romanzoffiana, 1 W. bifurcata, 2 W. robusta, 1 R. rivularis, 1 B. odorata, 1 B. nobilis, 2 S. palmetto, 1 A. merillii, 1 P. canariensis, 1 BxJ, 1 BxJxBxS, 1 BxS, 3 P. roebelenii, 1 H. lagenicaulis, 1 H. verschaffeltii, 9 T. fortunei, 1 C. humilis, 2 C. macrocarpa, 1 L. chinensis, 1 R. excelsa

@JLM The last couple of days, we got roughly .4 inches of rain here.  Then today it really let loose!  It was a torrential downpour for roughly an hour.  We're supposed to get more rain Monday, but time will tell.

We got a couple small rains recently but it's been pretty dry for a while. Big canal at my house is getting low. Today we got just enough to fill my collection barrels where the water pours off roof so maybe 1/4 inch. Not even what a thunderstorm would drop.

Looks like more of the same from Easter here tomorrow, tornadoes, severe storms, strong winds. I guess thats just life in the Dixie Alley.

Before Central FL got the first meaningful rains over a week ago, it had been something like almost a month and a half with none. Here in Orlando, grass was brown and full sized shrubs in the landscape were literally wilting. Driving north on 75 there were clumps of small bamboo planted on the border of one of the "Villages-type" developments in Lake County and they were all completely brown. Very thankful for the pattern switching.

That's one thing I noticed moving from the Panhandle to the Peninsula. Here it seems that more of the rain is missed from the frontal systems that don't go very far south.

Yesterday in St Pete I received .55" of rain, that is not bad for the dry season.

Looks like there were tornadoes on the way down I-75 as well.  Don't think we had any here this time.
