Thanks to the storms in April, snow pack in CA has increased to make up for dry Winter.  Reservoirs are also filling up nicely:

This mornings summaries from the National Weather Service.  I know that in Chula Vista our average annual precipitation hovers just a fraction under 10" on the bayfront.  In Encinitas about 11.5.  Orange County coastal is probably a little higher on average, but look at some of the rainfall totals below.  Here in Encinitas, we have hit just shy of 50% of normal in 5 days in April.  Historically our heaviest rainfall is in January, followed by February.  This is crazy!  I'm waiting for one of the old Eucalyptus to start falling on the Coast Highway here when the wind blows.  It has been a regular thing every wet winter the last decade or two, the only thing slowing the trend is there are fewer of them now.

That miracle March is what killed my foxtail last year. It was such a mild winter until that March came along and provided the precipitation along with some freezes and frost, at least up here. Fortunately, much more moderate temperatures to go along with the great rain this April! :)

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!

I emptied some buckets on Thursday and they look like yours too.  I could have used a kayak to commute here, because it was a river between Vulcan and the RR tracks last night, quite literally.  We have flooding issues down there in "normal" rain which this exceeded by a factor of 10.  Fortunately, my lot has decent drainage and I'm not in a low spot.  The official NWS sites reported for SD, OC, Riverside & San Bernardino counties indicated Encinitas had 7.4" for the 6 days of the storm.  Top rainfall amounts for both last 24 hours and the full 6 days of the storm are below:

We had a good amount of rain inland also. My weather station had a total of 4.10 inches last week.
