Morning Highlights

Kim

Recommended Posts

It’s a little drippy in the garden this morning after two days of brilliant sunshine. Still, a quick look around on a lazy Saturday morning turned up a few highlights.

REALLY good photos, Kim. Excellent to view online on a lazy Saturday morning, a little too drippy to do much work outside.

Lovely Kim, I know you’re enjoying the chance to spend some quality time in your garden. Everything looks happy, healthy, and fully recovered

from past challenges. A few days of respite from the rain not only lifts the mood, but rekindles the gardening spirit.

Looking great. It is easy to stay at home with a garden like that

I confess, I have it easy. I don't mind the quiet and relative solitude. This is blissful to me.

Thank you, Lars. That is the largest of my 3 Cyphosperma balansae which keeps trying to produce seed. No luck with any thing viable yet. The stilt roots in the background belong to Areca vestiaria 'maroon.'

Bo and I are hiding out in our jungles; just us, the palms, and lots of birds and coqui frogs! :P

I like that one too!  How long on the Big Island to gain that size and how big was it when you planted it.  I can dream that mine will attain that size someday.  As you know they are a lot slower here.

Hi Tracy. Oh, trying to recall... I think that was planted in 2011, probably from a 1 or 2 gallon pot. I will see if I can dig up a photo later.

Oh, I take it back. They were tiny!  In 4" pots from Floribunda. Planted May 9, 2011.

No surprise to you, I would guess mine is about the same age.  The big difference is that mine came from Floribunda over to California so it's about 5% the size of yours now.  Enjoyed seeing yours all the same and it gives me something to look forward to!  Lovely garden you have on the Big Island!  Stay safe over there.
