I saw this little coconut at Home Depot today and couldn’t resist. I really hadn’t planned to plant another palm, but...

I say go for it.   If you can pull it off!  It will look good.  Is is standard or dwarf.....?

Probably a green Malayan dwarf but who really knows. Generic Home Depot green variety...

I will say the greens are definitely more cool and cold hardy. I had yellow varieties when I lived in Ruskin and they did not make it. Overall the climate here in Parrish is just like Ruskin so far. I really like the way the yellows look but they take a beating in the winters here.

Good pickup, @ruskinPalms!

I agree with you and @GottmitAlex that the Golden Malayans seem like a tough grow over here as well.  I have been considering a Fiji Dwarf since @Zeeth had some good experience with them and they are true dwarfs = easier to protect from wind.

Where would you get a Fiji dwarf?

Oh yeah, I remember Zeeth saying something about that before. It would be nice to get ahold of something other than a Malayan dwarf for my Sarasota property.
