Nashville/Putnam County Tornado

This should probably not be within this section of discussing palms, but this is where most people are looking. As you all know, a tornado struck the great Music City on the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 3rd. This same tornado moved on to mostly rural areas of Tennessee, such as Smith and Putnam Counties. I know the area of middle Tennessee and have been to some of the places hit. Multiple people are still missing from this event, and i am deeply saddened to hear the number of people who are no longer alive. The lesson learned from this tornado: although only a slight risk (Level 2/5) was in place, you can still have tornadoes of this magnitude. The tornado watch that was in place had a "Low" risk for strong tornadoes (EF2 or higher). The risk was not zero. Having lived in Macon County which for those of you not in this area, its just north of where this all took place. In Macon County, a tornado of nearly the same strength touched down in Jackson, TN, it lifted over Nashville, but then touched down again in Castillian Springs, TN, moving north into Trousdale County, then into Macon County, where up to 14 lives were lost. I remember seeing pictures of the destruction( too young to witness), it reminds me of what Putnam County looks like right now. My message here: leave your phone on high with alerts turned up overnight when severe weather is expected, or have a weather radio nearby. #PrayforNashville #PrayforMiddleTennessee
