Potting up my Lithops

I'm potting up my Lithops today

i decided to put them in some of those white food containers and then keep spacing them when they get bigger cause i have limited space but it does get tedious.

unlike most plants i have i can grow these all the way to maturity cause they stay small.

Is anyone else growing these or similar succulents?

Very nice!..
Haven't yet started down the Lithops road but,  you may know this already,  there's a couple well known nurseries down in Tucson that stock numerous species / varieties.

Thanks i haven't heard of them, they do look Interesting but i live in Europe so i wouldn't easily do business with them.

i also find it more rewarding to start them from seed and it tends to be cheaper:36_14_15[1]:

well its done i think they're going to be fine in this for an extra year or so.

next time i think i'm going to opt for some kind of tray so the roots don't get tangled up.

I hear ya.. As good as it is to have places to obtain plants from, like starting from seed as much as possible also, definitely cheaper, and you have more control over the entire effort. Something goes wrong and it usually won't cost much to try again.

Looks good.

The one great thing, in regards to many succulent / cacti seedlings, is they tend to be more forgiving / experience less transplanting shock when separating out from crowded community pots.. or is what i've noticed in my personal experiences.

Many people get nervous when separating really small Echinopsis pups / offsets.. some say not to pot up until the offsets are no smaller than a U.S. dime. Have had decent success removing/ re-potting some that were roughly half that size.
