this was the only other Sabal in the park (besides a few volunteers) I assume this second one is Blackburnia as I saw several Local Nurseries selling them.  Please correct me if I am wrong

Since Sabals hybridize extremely rarely, I usually don't even consider a hybrid, when trying to ID Sabals. However, in this case... if someone said to me: what would a very old S. etonia x S. minor hybrid look like, I would probably imagine something like this first Sabal. But... since I still have a hard time calling any Sabal a hybrid, I am going to say that the first one is Sabal etonia. The second one is likely a Sabal rosei.

The bottom one look like washingtonia filifera with all that fiber. Do you have a shot of the petioles?

After looking at it a second time it seems to be a Filfera. The boots were trimmed so far back it looked like a young palmetto trunk. *insert slapping forehead here
