Annihilating Spider plant in the garden

Recommended Posts

Some spider plant (Chlorophytum composing) has established itself in my garden and I wan to get rid of it.

Anyone have experience in this regard? Glyphosate (Roundup kleenup) doesn’t seem to hurt it. It has tubers that run all over and I want if I can to avoid having to dig them all up.

Thoughts, anyone?

Digging it up is the most reliable option. Comes up pretty easily ( usually ) if you soak the area first. Can use something like a 3 prong weed hoe to get under the bigger clumps.  Normally doesn't return.. or was my own experience when removing it in the past.

Thanks @Silas_Sancona! I want to dig only as a last resort as there's a lot of other plants that will be collateral damage.

Anyone ever try using cardboard like for nutgrass?
