Discovery of Sabinaria magnifica - Hawaii Presentation

The Hawaii Island Palm Society was fortunate to have Saúl Hoyes-Gomez tell us about his recent discovery of this insanely beautiful palm. In his own words, with his own photos, this is a half hour presentation of the difficulties and excitement of not only discovering a new species, but a new genus of palm that is arguably the most beautiful palm in all of South America.

Enjoy and learn. CLICK HERE

Great Video Dean. I wish the T.V. networks did more on plants like they do with animals.

Thanks - this is "new improved" software - so, any feedback on how it played and displayed on your screens would be appreciated.

Thanks for the effort Dean!

Enjoyable presentation by a very passionate speaker. There is something for everyone, palms, plants, thrill seekers, and environmentalists.

Fortunate to be able to attend such interesting events through our local society.

Thanks, very interesting story!  Only makes me want one of these even more though.  Anyone crazy enough to be growing one of these permanently indoors? Give me some hope!

Interesting story, it makes me wonder what other kind of amazing discoveries could still be waiting.

The video played without problems for me.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for posting Dean, very interesting story.  I am glad to be lucky enough to have a few to grow around here, in containers.

I appreciate the comments. Especially those mentioning how this type of presentation displays on your various devices. It is hard for me to know how this plays on all the different, phones, tablets, computers - and I am even watching these types of "video" on my big screen with Air Play and You Tube, etc.

So - Thanks
