Moody Gardens is located in Galveston, Texas(9B). Today I visited the “Rainforest Pyramid” and it’s palms, tropical plants, and animals.

Nice pics! But you missed the main attraction imo, the several large royal palms growing next to the pyramids and also adjacent to the convention center/hotel.

You mean these royals? I passed by there a couple months ago and had to get a picture.

Yes those are the royals by the hotel. The royals right up against the pyramids are probably twice as big. Fairly easy to miss in the sea of date palms. However, their crowns are now above the canopy and clearly visible even from the parking lot.

So these royals! One of them has a fruit spike. Couldn’t get that in the picture though.

Ok, then I want a coconut like that!  :D The fronds just didn't look like a coconut to me, I guess it's just the perspective of the photo up the trunk.

Wait a darn minute am I the only one that noticed the cyrtostachys renda ?  I have been there twice and never get the chance to really do enough investigating,  cause I have my daughter on my shoulder's wanting to see the arapaima haha. I got tickets for a rainy day need to go back myself.

I was told Ficus Pseudopalma. It’s definitely more upright and palm like than alot of online photos, but It doesn’t face the wind and elements like those do.

I noticed it but was moving at a slow pace. The red trunks definitely stood out. My wife and kids were annoyed with me and wondered on. They were there for the animals, I was there for the plants.

Right. But the animal life was equally impressive, just a bit more difficult to get quality photos of. Exotic snakes , lizards turtles, Komodo Dragons, Ocelots, monkeys, exotic birds, fruit and vampire bats, giant river otters , fish, freshwater sting rays, etc. Some in enclosures, but a lot roaming free within the pyramid.

Apparently I need to check that place out. I’ve only been to the parking lot.
