Went to HD today to pick up some perlite and look what I found...

This is the first time I've seen bamboo palms at a BB store.

My HD has them too. Was very tempted to buy one, but they’re not cold hardy enough to survive a bad winter here.

$100?!?!?!? at HD? ridiculous.

I didn't get any. Im not crazy fond of the Chamaedorea genus in particular. I just was surprised to see a BB store offer anything other than parlor palms, and majesty palms here.

Chamaedorea is a fine genus and more cold hardy than you might expect.  I have a few varieties...., Bamboo palm, Metalica, Parlor, and Cat. The only ones I usually do NOT see at the BB stores in NJ is Metalica.

P.S., Majesty Palms, LOL, I leave this one in the garage in order to survive..., and it DOES! They seem to HATE being inside with us people over the Winter!

@Dartolution I think you will come around to Chams one day. Radicalis is one I believe you will , just cause of its hardiness. After that you make shade in your garden you'll be planting Chams in the holes =)
