Mine is in a slightly NE facing window and the foil is to make the most of the available light.

Forgot to mention, no rain to speak of for the last 12 months so plants struggling somewhat. Water restrictions at highest ever no watering at all. Fortunately over the last few decades I have worked the garden, good soil and plenty of mulch to keep the ground cool. Still hoping for rain, lots of it before winter.

Slightly off topic but you should be getting some good rain very soon, if you haven't already got a drenching since you posted this.

Millbrook, "Kinjarling" Noongar word meaning "Place of Rain", Rainbow Coast, Western Australia 35S. Warm temperate. Csb Koeppen Climate classification. Cool nights all year round.

Surprised nobody's posted woodsoniana or benziei!

This is one of two benziei i have. Strong grower despite being trampled by running dogs at least twice.

Nice color! How old is this guy?

Thank you. I just keep them in rich soil and u use a special liquid fertilizer that has everything for plants and keeps the nice and dark green. I think that radicalis is maybe 2 years old. A guy on palmtalk sent them to me about a year ago. I wish I could remember the name of the guy because proper credit is deserved. He sent 12 radicalis to me along with some seed and he didn't even make me pay shipping.

It was Darold Petty who sent me the radicalis palms and seed. I appreciate him doing that. These palms are amazing

Oops, I just noticed you mentioned they are two years old.

I could be wrong about their age though

My potted Chamaedorea radicalis in the house for the winter. I germinated these in spring 2017 via seeds from DoomsDave. The natural light at my house is okay but not great. These don't seem to mind it though and are even slowly pushing new leaves.

I love my Chamaedorea glaucifolia. A reasonably fast grower and thick glaucous powder on the petioles. Only an indoor plant where I live though.

How quick were your seeds to germinate?
