I have been noticing in the photos that folks are posting of Chamaedorea stolonoifera that mine does not exactly seem to match up. Do I have mine misidentified? I bought a single one years ago at Fairchild Ramble and now have about 50

Could it be Chamaedorea brachypoda? Stolonifera spread very, very slowly but brachypoda is much faster and has a reputation for invasiveness if turned loose in a garden. I am wary of trying it even in pots.

I think its a possibility...some of the photos above in this thread show stolonoifera bring a lot more sparsely leaved with smaller leaf sections....this palm is VERY quick, it has even grown under the wall of the greenhouse and is coming up in the yard. I am leaving them out there to test their cold hardiness. I have had to dig these out of the path and adjacent area in the greenhouse before.

Looking at the photos in Palmpedia I think it IS brachypoda. The fronds are broader that the ones on stolonoifera and look to be not as deeply incised

I just noticed this in San Mateo, as I was bicycling to work today.  Is this C. cataractarum or Ravenea rivularis?

My potted Chamaedorea radicalis in the house for the winter. I germinated these in spring 2017 via seeds from DoomsDave. The natural light at my house is okay but not great. These don't seem to mind it though and are even slowly pushing new leaves.

Here are my four Chamadorea Radicalis seedlings at about 9 months post emergence.

No winter damage at all, having been left outside unprotected. Slightly stretched though, particularly the smaller two. But doing well nonetheless.

The seeds were sent to me courtesy of @DoomsDave

For our area I believe full sun would burn them, but higher latitude sun isn't so harsh.

Almost forgot about this one.. Because i don't remember collecting seed off any that are growing in Kopsick's collection, not sure on ID but certain it's a Chamaedorea, especially since it is starting to form suckers at the base ( Pic. #2)  At least from what i remember of my own, doesn't look like Chamaedorea microspadix.

As crazy as this sounds.. this is the only pinnate-type palm i have left since moving here.. ( summer heat finished off the others, inc. my K.O. and Flame thrower.. ) This thing has sat in the shade house where it gets more sun than any of the other more mature palms i had ( they sat in an always shaded corner of the yard, under the Mesquite ) but hasn't skipped a beat, or shown any serious burn.  Obviously will stay in there until i move. Anyway, kind of special regardless. Two seedlings in the same pot ( pic # 2 ) are Livistonia saribus.
