Just booked flights to Vietnam.

Planning to go to the area west of Kon Tum again.

Will have a car with driver to head from Nha Trang to Da Nang or the other way.

There will be space for 1 or 2 others.

This is a truly spectacular area and the area of many new palm discoveries.

Will see Pinanga annamesis.declinata and kontumensis .

Licuala bracteata, glaberrima, parvula and honbaensis.

Also Lanonia gialaiensis, hexasepala centralis and hopefully manglaensis.

Not desperate for a full car but thought I would see if a like minded palmer was keen.

This will be my 3rd trip to this area and so I  know exactly some localities.

This will not be an American Hilton type trip.

Update on my plans. Leaving Nha Trang around 17 or 18/3 for about 12 days by car with driver. Going via BMT to Kon Tum and then Mang Den which is very close to everything.

Going the road to Kbang which will be newfor me  then back by coast to Nha Trang. About 12 days

Woo Hoo

Well unfortunately the situation in Vietnam has led to me rescheduling the trip for 6 months. A friend travelling in the central highlands at the moment reports the locals are now rightly concerned about virus transmission from foreigners. Not a happy situation. Rethinking booking Sarawak in 3 months now. Palm mania sucks sometimes

Sorry to hear you had to cancel your trip, but i think it might be best to stay home now.

you don't want to take unnecessery risks and maybe get stuck abroad in case this gets worse.

the situation in europe is getting pretty bad right now.
