Zone 7a moist/shady area.    Currently planting some Christmas ferns.  Looking for other EVERGREEN groundcover that is not so invasive it will go under fence and will look good with other tropicals.

Many Aspidistra species are cold hardy to zone 7a and are worth a try

The only thing I can think of are some sedums.  Sedum rupestre 'Angelina' has a nice bright chartreuse color.  Most groundcovers are going to spread under that fence - that's the tough part.
