Tad

The percentage numbers are supposedly for chance of precipitation but I'm not buying it, and as for any chance of getting out of the A/C while driving thru, the 0% is about right. :P

That's what I've been dreading also.  Don't think I can take another cold spell like that one again.

I agree!  I will take 90 degrees and 90% humidity over those temps!  Jeez, almost enough to boil the blood.

Wal, if you read this, I understand there are places in the outback that are so hot, your blood does boil and you die.  True?

Forcast for Fresno is three days of 107-108 and now they are adding humid to the forcast.  Starting to smell like last July.  100+F and humid is brutal (and I am used to tropical heat).

Close to the coast we're still getting the marine layer in the morning. By afternoon I'm feeling warmth mixed with some actual humidity. This is close to ideal for my plants.

It topped out at 83F at my house yesterday. We don't even have air conditioning. Actually, nobody on my street does. Never need it.

It's been getting into the mid 30's at my place (low 90's F) the past few days.  But, the dewpoint has been in the upper teens (low 60's F), so it's really not that dry...

I'm finding that the almost constant on shore breeze at my place is keeping the temps down.  It's been getting to the high 80's and low 90's down the hill but at my place it hasn't exceeded 84F.

This heat wave is already starting to slow, esp west of the mountains.  Coast cities 70s/lo 80's will cool down further as weekend nears.  Inland temps have been hot but no records broken.  Desert regions seasonably hot:

Phoenix : 113F/45c

Las Vegas : 111F/43.8c

Bullhead City : 118F/47.7c

Palm Springs : 112F/44.4c

Death Valley : 119F/48.3

Dew points will rise and modify temps.  Scattered thundershowers in Arizona soon though too early to detect monsoonal trend.

Jack

Agree that evening readings have been uncomfortable w/ brief onshore air overnight.  My new A/C won't be installed for a few more weeks.  :(
