PSSC ANNUAL BANQUET SAN DIEGO BOTANICAL GARDENS JANUARY 2020

Recommended Posts

This year we are excited to have our annual PSSC Banquet at the San Diego Botanical Garden (fromerly Quail Garden) in Encinitas, San Diego. Today the renamed San Diego Botanic Garden is designated one of the “Top 10 North  American Gardens Worth Traveling For” by the American Gardens Association. Four miles of trails wind through its 29 uniquely themed gardens, among them a tropical rain forest, a bamboo garden, and regional desert landscapes. There is plenty of free parking, handicapped access and relatively easy access by pretty much everyone in Southern California.

Special Guest speaker, Don Hodel from University of California Cooperative Extension.

Don’s topic coincides nicely with Don’s fifty years of experience in botany. He is considered a world leader in palm taxonomy and horticulture. Don has authored/co-authored more than 50 peer reviewed journal articles and more than 250 trade or popular articles about selection, planting and management of woody landscape plants. In addition, he has authored six books (four of them about palms and two about trees).
The cost is $63 per person and includes entrance to the Botanical Garden, a savings of $18. Unfortunately, the hall where the banquet will be served is limited to the first 60 PSSC members who sign up.

The deadline for sign-up is January 17, 2020 but sign up earlier because there is a very good chance we will reach our limit much sooner. You can sign up with PayPal below. You can also mail checks, payable to the PSSC to:

Kathy Van Twist
15102 Kingston Lane
Huntington Beach, CA 92647

Kathy can be reached at (714) 251-1522 or David Bleistein at (323) 482-5071

OR, PAY BY PAYPAL ON OUR WEBSITE.

Kathy and I will be there and we are looking forward to another great banquet at this special place. So what kind of food are they serving this year?
