AeAe vs.Musa "Florida"

Can anyone tell me what the differences are between AeAe and Musa "Florida"? What is the origin of Musa "Florida"? I have been trying to get information on both cultivars, and am not coming up with much. Any input would be appreciated.

Now you've got me curious about AeAe.  Does it taste good?  Do the fruits have big seeds?  Is it like the standard Cavendish, or the Gros Michel?

I don't know anything about bananas but I have been thinking about getting some.

My experience with the Ae Ae is that the flesh is firmer than cavendish. Slightly less sweet but a very good eating banana

One would only get this very expensive banana variety for the look of the plant, not for the taste of the fruit. There aren't any seeds to speak of. Ae Ae banana plants are not an easy grow. They need some protection from wind and afternoon sun.

This is the fruit that I am getting from the plant. I believe that your plant Ron is the source of mine via another collector.

Florida is much easier to  grow and just looks better. The plant was found in Florida, brought to Thailand,  and now being made available here  again. I don't know what company  did this.
