What area of Dallas do you live in?  I spent a lot of time down there and don't remember seeing any palms.

I was in the Dallas (area) on business last month  and saw quite a few Palmettos even on the North side of town. I was in Plano which is pretty far north and saw a few here and there in yards. When I was driving back to DFW I was taking the George Bush TPK and saw 20 or so fully mature Sabal Palms around a condo complex or apartment complex with some sort of drainage river next to the complex and the river was lined with Palms.  I am sure locals know what I am referring too.
I cannot confirm myself but I was told the south side of Dallas is an older area and you can find many more Palms growing in yards.

It seems to me that Dallas is growing northward which is not good for palm nuts

cheers,

Jeff
